Zdrave grickalice / Healthy Snaks



Domaći krekeri, zašto da ne?! Home made crackers, why not?!

Brzo i lako se prave. Ukusni i hrskavi. Mogu biti u raznim oblicima i različitih ukusa. Odlični za umakanje u topljeni sir, pavlaku čak i ajvar. Meni možda omiljena kombinacija, domaći mleveni paradajz sa malo belog luka u prahu i origana ili bosiljka. 

Easy and quick. Delicious and crunchy. You can shape them any way you like and you can add any flavor to them. Great for dipping into cream cheese, sour cream and maybe my favorite, tomato sauce with a little bit of garlic powder and basil or oregano.   

Domaći krekeri / Olive oil crackers

Sastojci / Ingredients

1 1/2 šolje integralnog pšeničnog brašna / 1 1/2 cup semolina flour 
1 1/2 šolje integralnog heljdinog brašna / 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 kašičica soli / 1 tsp salt 
1 šolja mlake vode / 1 cup warm water
1/3 šolje maslinovog ulja / 1/3 cup olive oil 

Zagrejte rernu na 180 stepeni. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Pomešajte brašno i so u činiji i dodajte vodu i maslinovo ulje. Smesu možete umutiti mikserom ali ja volim da isprljam ruke pa mesim rukama. Testo ne bi trebalo da bude ni previše tvrdo ni previše gnjecavo. Slobodno dodajte još vode ili brašna, da ne kažem koliko testo zahteva :) Kada dobijete ujednačenu masu, prebacite je na radnu površinu i nastavite da mesite još nekoliko minuta. Testo podelite na 12 jednakih delova i svaki oblikujte u loptu i ostavite da odstoje na sobnoj temperaturi 30 do 60 minuta. 

Whisk together flour and salt. Add water and oil. If you like, you could use mixer with a dough hook attachment to mix the dough but I like to mix it with my hands. The dough shouldn't be too dry nor too sticky so feel free to add more water or flour. Transfer the dough to a floured counter-top and knead the dough for 3 to 5 minutes. When you're done kneading, shape the dough into a large ball. Cut it into twelve equal-sized pieces, shape into a small ball and place on a plate and let it rest at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes. 

Kada je testo odstojalo, uzmite lopticu i ravucite oklagijom. Testo secite oštrim nožem u oblik koji želite (ja sam sekla na trouglove ali možete napraviti pravougaonike, trake, krugove...). Poređejte isečene krekere na papir za pečenje i u ovom trenutku im možete dodati omiljene začine. Pospite po krekerima so, biber, ljutu papriku, beli luk u prahu, kari u prahu, bosiljak, origano pa čak i parmezan, izbor je Vaš. Ponovite proces sa svakom kluglicom. Pecite krekere u prethodno zagrejanoj rerni na 180 stepeni dok ne dobiju zlatno braon boju (oko 10-15 minuta) i ostavite da se ohlade pre serviranja. 

When the dough is done resting, flatten one ball. Cut the dough with a sharp knife into whatever shape you like (I've shaped mine into triangles, but you can do squares, stripes or circles...). Place the crackers onto a backing sheet and now is the time to put some flavor on. Sprinkle crackers with salt, pepper, chili paper, curry powder, garlic powder, basil, oregano or even grated parmesan cheese, the choice is yours. Repeat the process for the remaining dough balls.  Bake until golden and let cool before serving.
